Description
The Three Horseshoes Public House is a 16th century and earlier timber-framed building with one storey and attics, featuring two gabled dormers that face east. The exterior is rendered, and the roof is ridged and gabled, covered with peg tiles. There is a modern chimney stack located at the north end of the ridge. The ground storey has a central front door, which is modern, situated under a flat hood supported by brackets. On either side of the door are a pair of six-pane sash windows in exposed boxes. Originally, the building had an open hall at the north end, which was later divided in the late 16th century. The southern bay contains a storeyed service area, where evidence of a first floor and a buttery partition can still be seen in the bar room.
