Description

Moat Hall, formerly known as Moat Farmhouse, is a house dating from around 1749, with parts that date back to the 16th century. It is timber framed and plastered, standing two storeys high with attics. The front features a range of five small pane sash windows on the first storey, with the central window being round-headed. The central front door has eight fielded panels and is topped by a Doric pediment, flanked by two fluted pilasters with triglyphs on the entablature. There are two matching sash windows on both the left and right sides of the door. The building has an L-shaped plan with ridged and gabled roofs covered in peg tiles. The eaves are coved in timber, and there are moulded red brick chimney stacks at the terminals. The site is partly moated.
