Description

Penny Cottage is an early 19th-century house designed in the Regency style. It has roughcast painted elevations and stands two storeys high, topped with a ridged and gabled roof covered in slate, featuring eaves and troughing. There are two red brick chimney stacks positioned evenly along the ridge. The central front door consists of six fielded panels set in a wide wooden case, topped with a flat hood supported by scrolly consoles. The windows are small-paned hornless sashes with marginal lights surrounding them, with two on the ground storey and two on the first storey, all set in exposed boxes.
