Description

Apple Tree Cottage is a house dating from around 1600, originally timber-framed and subsequently plastered. It has a gabled roof covered in peg tiles. The front of the house features two horizontally sliding sash windows with small panes, alongside a pair of 19th-century casements with small panes. There are two simple, boarded entrance doors. Two red brick gable and chimney stacks are present, as is a continuous rear lean-to addition. Inside, you'll find large square floor joists and regular wall studding. Blocked stair/ladder wells are located to the rear of the original part of the building. The roof structure includes clasped purlins and rafters, with some elements enclosed within a later extension.
