Description
The building at 12-18 Alma Street, Wivenhoe, is a group of tenements dating to circa 1850-1860. It comprises a long range with a two-bay section to the south having lower eaves and a separate build. The main facade is of red brick laid in a Flemish bond, and features three pilasters of irregular spacing. There are six windows with margin-barred sashes, each with a segmental arch and a stucco keystone. The original door to number 14 has a panelled leaf detail within its Egyptian-style stucco case. Matching sashes are found on the first storey, located under the eaves. The roof is slate-covered, with four chimney stacks.
