Description

No. 8 Church Street is a former District Registry of the High Court of Justice, built in the early 19th century. The building is constructed of plastered brick and features a ground floor tetrastyle portico that spans the entire front. The end bays are accented with flat pilasters. It has a four-window range with double hung sashes that include glazing bars, and the two center windows have arched heads. A stone cornice with modillions crowns the structure, and it is topped with a slate roof.
