Description
Birds Farmhouse is a 16th to 17th century timber-framed and plastered house, with historical records dating back to 1390, possibly linked to a person named Thomas Brid. The house underwent restoration and renovation in the 20th century. It features cross wings at both the north and south ends, which are jettied on the first storey and supported by exposed joists and brackets. The building has two storeys and a three-window range, with casements that have lattice leaded lights. The roof is tiled and includes a central original chimney stack with three diagonally set shafts on a rectangular base. Inside, there are original features such as the remains of a screen with two four-centred arches and a room that includes a king post roof truss and exposed rafters.
