Description

A timber-framed and plastered house dating from the 16th century, originally built on an H-shaped plan with a central hall. The house was significantly altered in the 17th century and in modern times. Gabled wings project slightly at the east and west ends; these wings have two storeys and attics, while the central block has a single storey with attics. Ground floor windows are double-hung sashes with glazing bars, and the east wing features a 19th-century bay window. First-floor windows are casements. The roof is tiled. The building forms a group with the Church of St Mary the Virgin, Broomfields (No 18), Woolards Cottages, and the Kings Arms Inn.
