Description
Broomfield Place is an early 19th century building made of grey gault brick. It stands two storeys tall and features a single-storey wing set back on the north side, which has blank arcading. The east front has a five-window arrangement in a 2:1:2 pattern, with two slightly projecting wings at the north and south ends, each having a two-window range. The south front has a three-window range. The windows are double-hung sashes with margin glazing bars, set in stuccoed architraves, and the ground storey windows have cornices. A stucco band runs between the storeys. The central part of the east front has a recessed one-window range, which is accented by a Doric tetrastyle portico on the ground storey, featuring a triglyph frieze, cornice, and fluted columns in antis. The roof is hipped and covered with slate, with hips extending to the slightly projecting wings at the front.
