Description

This is a substantial gault brick terrace located on New London Road, built between 1843 and 1848. The terrace comprises 122 to 136 New London Road and features an 8-window range set between projecting end bays, each of which has a 4-window range. The central range has a pair of front doors sheltered by moulded hoods supported on consoles. The end ranges are distinguished by stone porticos with three square, plain columns and entablatures. The ground floor windows are paired, six-pane sashes with margin lights. The first-floor windows are set within stucco architraves and are four-pane sashes with margin lights. The roofs are hipped and slated, in an H-plan configuration. Bold soffits on stone console brackets run the full height of the top storey, and four chimney stacks are visible on the rear slope.
