Description

Bicknacre Priory Ruins are the remnants of a priory founded in 1157 for Augustinian canons by Maurice Fitzgerald. The priory never thrived, and the last canon passed away in 1507. Today, only the west arch of the crossing of the church, dating from around 1250, remains. This structure is made of rubble and some brick and is located in a field to the north of Priors Field, with access from Bicknacre Road, CM3 4ES.
