Description

This is a timber-framed and plastered house, likely of 15th-century origin, but largely altered in the 18th century. The front displays 18th-century features. It has gabled wings that project slightly at the north and south ends of the front, and is two storeys high with attics. The window arrangement is 1:2:1, featuring double-hung sash windows, mostly with glazing bars. The windows in the north and south wings are three-light. There are two doorways with panelled pilasters, a frieze, and a cornice. The roofs are tiled, with a moulded wood eaves cornice and two 19th-century gabled dormer windows. The south gable shows exposed timber framing. The listed buildings around The Green form a group, including numbers 8, 10, 38, 52 and 25, which are buildings of local interest.
