Description

The House at Warren Farm is a building located in Little Baddow, dating from the mid-16th century, with extensions added in the 17th and 19th centuries. It features a timber-framed structure that is plastered, with brick underbuilding on the north front. The roof is covered with red plain tiles and is hipped at the west end. The house has two storeys and a T-shaped plan, with a four-window range that includes modern vertical sliding sashes and casements. There are red brick chimney stacks from the 16th and 18th centuries. The brick underbuilding consists of two stages, from the late 16th and 17th centuries, showcasing flared headers arranged in a diaper pattern. Inside, the original frame is largely intact, featuring stop-chamfered beams, jowled storey posts, and a crown post roof.
