Description

The Old Rectory is a house built by the architect William White between 1857 and 1858, designed in the style of the English Arts and Crafts movement. White showcases his exploration of polychromatic brickwork through irregular bands of red and yellow bricks, using various bonding techniques, including laying some bricks on edge. The windows are casements of different sizes and shapes, contributing to the building's character. The roof features a diverse range of shapes typical of tiled roofs. This variety is also reflected in the walls, which are designed to break forward and recede on each front.
