Description
Chelmer Cottage is a house that likely dates back to the 17th century. It features a plastered timber frame and has a plain tile roof with gabled ends. The building has a truncated brick axial stack and is designed with a three-room plan. It stands at one storey with an attic and has an asymmetrical four-window south front. The exterior includes various casement windows with leaded panes, a doorway located to the right of centre, and a gabled dormer to the left of centre. At the rear, there is a gabled dormer on the right side. The west end has a four-light window on the ground floor and a two-light casement window above in the gable. Inside, the cottage showcases an exposed timber frame, chamfered ceiling beams and joists, and a clasped purlin roof.
