Description
Thundersley Hall is a house located on Thundersley Church Road, dating from around 1600. It is likely timber framed but has been cased in brick and plaster, featuring a central band and a moulded eaves cornice. The roof is red plain tiled and hipped to the right. There are external plastered brick chimney stacks on the left and rear right. The building has two storeys and attics, with a 20th-century single storey rear extension. It includes four hipped dormers and a four-window range of 20th-century diamond leaded three-light casements. The entrance on the right features an 18th-century six-panelled door with a moulded surround and a flat canopy, along with a step approach. There is also an opposing vertically boarded door at the rear, which has a moulded surround. Inside, notable features include an 18th-century fully panelled room, a simple 18th-century balustered staircase, several 18th-century two-panelled doors, and 18th- and early 19th-century fireplaces. The original framed staggered side purlin roof is still intact. Thundersley Hall is one of the two manors of Thundersley.
