Description

Two adjoining houses located in Hutton Village, dating from the early 19th century with 20th-century alterations. The houses are timber-framed and rendered with a 20th-century roof of flat clay tiles. A central chimney stack has been repointed. The plan is T-shaped, featuring a 20th-century two-story rear addition set at a right angle. The west-facing front elevation has a two-window range, with 20th-century replacement sash windows, each with four-by-four panes and horns. Two doorways are placed at the outer edges of the facade, each with a 20th-century boarded door and a bull’s-eye light above. The north and south end elevations are weatherboarded, extending around the rear 20th-century addition. Numbers 56 and 58 form a group with other buildings within the village.
