Description
Odewells is a house that dates back to the 16th century or earlier, with two later additions, one from the early 18th century. The building has undergone some alterations in the 20th century. It features a timber frame with plastering and is faced with Gault brick on the north side. The roofs are covered with red tiles on the main sections and red pantiles on the single-storey lean-to on the right. There are Gault brick chimney stacks on both the left and right sides of the main range. The house has two storeys and the north face displays a window arrangement of two windows above one, including three-light diamond leaded casements on the ground floor of the main range and 19th-century vertically sliding sash windows. A panelled door with a light is located on the west face. Inside, there is a stop-chamfered bridging joist and exposed floor joists, along with a 17th-century red brick fireplace that has a mantel beam above it.
