Description
Mulberry Close is a house dating from the 16th and 17th centuries, which has been extended and extensively restored in the 20th century. It features a timber frame that is plastered, with some areas of rendered brick, and is topped with a roof of handmade red plain tiles. The main part of the house faces northwest and includes an axial stack. The building has two storeys with attics and a single-storey extension to the right, also featuring an axial stack.
On the ground floor, there are two square bays and three casements, all of which are from the 20th century. The porch is gabled and glazed, having been converted into a minor extension. The first floor has four casements and an imitation large hall window, all also from the 20th century. There are two 20th-century casements in gabled dormers, and a recessed porch in the right extension. The roof is hipped, and some of the timber frame is exposed internally. The house has a 17th-century side-purlin roof. It is believed to have been built for Geoffrey Game, a butcher who died in 1572.
