Description

River House is an 18th-century house, altered in the early 19th century. It is constructed of gault and red brick with some plastered timber framing, and has a roof of handmade red plain tiles. The house has a square plan facing southeast, with a rear extension. It is two storeys high, with a 3-window range of 19th-century sash windows. The ground floor has two full-height double doors with rectangular overlights. A central entrance door features a fanlight and a flat, canopied porch supported by tapering square piers with moulded plinth blocks and capitals. A string course and parapet run along the top of the building. The roof is hipped.
