Description

Brook House is a house dating to circa 1840, with an 18th-century service wing. It is constructed of stucco over brick, with a slate roof, and the service wing is timber-framed and plastered. The house has a double-range plan, facing west, with the service wing at the rear of the right end. It is two storeys high and has a five-window front of sash windows with small surrounding lights and external louvred shutters. A central four-panel door, with glazed upper panels, is set within a Tuscan porch. The stucco is marked to resemble stone blocks, with a band marking the first floor level. The roof is hipped with a shallow pitch. The service wing features exposed beams and joists.
