Description

Pooles Bridge is a road bridge built around 1736 and enlarged in 1819. It is constructed of red brick with stone coping. The south face features three segmental headed arches, each with a stone keystone, and has cutwaters on both sides. The central keystone is inscribed with "Robt. Poole, Surveyor 1736." The north face is similar but has ten corbels and a semi-domed cutwater on the left side. The keystone on this side is inscribed with "built 1736 enlarged 1819."
