Description

The Red Lion Public House is a 17th-century building that has been converted from a house into a public house. It features a timber frame, is plastered, and has a thatched roof. The building is oriented approximately northwest to southeast, with a southwest aspect and two axial chimney stacks. At the northwest end, there is a thatched rear extension, and beyond that, a 19th-century pantiled extension with an end chimney stack. The remainder of the rear has a lean-to extension with a catslide thatched roof. There is also a small brick lean-to extension in the eastern angle. At the southeast end, there is a single-storey extension with a pantiled roof, also from the 19th century. The building has two storeys and features three half-glazed doors and three double-hung sash windows with 16 lights, which were added in the 20th century. On the first floor, there are three casement windows from the 19th century. The main roof is half-hipped at both ends, and the interior includes stop-chamfered beams.
