Description

This barn, located approximately 20 metres to the north-west of Elms Farmhouse, dates from the 16th or 17th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and is weatherboarded. The roof is half hipped and covered with red plain tiles, featuring staggered side purlins. A central gabled midstrey has a small hip, and there is a loft door on the gable end, along with a vertically boarded door and a window opening fitted with a side-hinged shutter. The structure primarily has straight braces to the tie beams, with some hanging knee replacements. There is one bay that includes a loft door.
