Description
Elms Farmhouse is a house that dates from the 16th century or earlier, with later alterations and additions. It is constructed from timber framing and plaster, topped with red plain tiled roofs. The left lower range features a roof outshot at the first floor and has a 19th-century three-light casement window beneath it. The right range has a plastered rear gable and an external gault chimney stack that is pierced by a 20th-century casement window. There is also a red brick forward chimney stack to the right of the gable. The building is two storeys high and has a variety of three windows, including a 19th-century vertical sliding sash with side margins. The central door is from the 20th century, and there is a French door to the right. The farmhouse has a complex plan, with visible chamfered bridging joists and a covered jetty from the original house. Inside, there are two red brick inglenook fireplaces, one located at the angle of a room.
