Description
The coach house and stable block, now used as garages, is located approximately 10 metres north-east of South Lodge on Dunmow Road in Great Bardfield. It dates from the early 19th century and is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, with timber framing and weatherboarding, topped with a slate roof. The building has two bays facing southwest and features a single-storey extension to the right, which includes an end stack. It is one storey high with attics and has two pairs of garage doors along with two 19th-century casements set in swept dormers. The structure has a gambrel roof and a gable end facing the road, made of red brick, which includes a round window near the apex. The building is listed for its group value.
