Description
South End is a house dating from the 15th century, with alterations made in the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. It is timber framed and plastered, with a roof made of handmade red clay tiles. The main part of the house faces northwest and features one axial stack. There is a two-bay crosswing at the left end and a 20th-century garage beyond it. The house has two storeys and includes two splayed bays with early 20th-century sash windows, one of which is located under the jetty of the crosswing that has one plain bracket exposed. On the first floor, there is one 20th-century sash window and one late 18th or early 19th-century sash window with 16 lights made of crown glass. The entrance features a six-panel flush door with a shallow hood supported by scrolled brackets, along with garage doors and one 20th-century door. Original sprockets can be seen on the left return of the crosswing.
