Description
This is a range of houses on Bradford Street, dating to the late 16th century. The original structure was timber-framed and plastered, with additions made in the 17th century and alterations occurring in the 18th and 19th centuries, including raising the front elevation. The gable at the south end retains some exposed timber framing.
The houses are arranged over two storeys and have attics, with a total of five windows. They feature double-hung sash windows with glazing bars set in flush cased frames. Nos 84 and 86 have three windows each, and the ground-floor windows of the front elevation have thick section glazing bars. An oriel bay window sits on the ground floor, alongside a paired doorway with a plain fanlight and cornices supported by cut brackets. The doorways to Nos 88 and 90 are similarly styled but are separate. No. 90 has a three-light bay window on the ground floor.
At the rear, three two-storey gabled wings extend eastward. The roofs are tiled. The interiors reveal exposed beams; No. 86 features a carved beam with foliated stops, while Nos 88 and 90 have moulded beams.
