Description

A timber-framed and plastered house, dating from the 16th to 17th centuries, and later refronted and re-roofed in the 18th century. The building, now faced with pebbledash, is two storeys and has attics. It has a three-window front with double-hung sash windows, some with glazing bars, set in flush cased frames. The central window on the first floor is two-light, and the ground-floor window is three-light. The ground floor includes two small 20th-century shopfronts. Number 68 features a doorway with a moulded wooden architrave, a pulvinated frieze, and a cornice. The roofs are tiled and have a mansard design with a half-hipped profile, incorporating two gabled dormers with casements.
