Description
The building is a byre and shed located approximately 25 metres south-west of Priory Farmhouse, dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. The byre is timber framed and plastered, with a thatched roof, while the shed has a roof covered with red clay pantiles, some of which have a black glaze. The byre consists of three bays aligned northwest to southeast, and the shed has two bays, connecting it to the barn and enclosing the western end of the farmyard. It is a single storey structure.
On the northeast elevation, there is one 19th or 20th century casement window and one plain boarded door. The southeast end features one 20th century casement window and one halved door. The building has a pegged hardwood frame with primary straight bracing and clasped purlin roofs. Inside the byre, there is a wooden feeding trough that runs the full length of the southwest side, along with two half-height partitions between stalls made of profiled boards. The building is included for its group value.
