Description
South Lodge to Colne House is an early 19th-century lodge cottage. It is constructed of gault brick in Flemish bond and features a roof made of hexagonal-pattern slates with half-round red clay ridge tiles. The building has a T-plan layout with a gable facing the street at the left end and a small 20th-century extension at the right end. There are three internal stacks with octagonal shafts and moulded caps. The original windows include a central mullion and transom, along with drip moulds. A gabled porch on the left side, which faces the drive to Colne House, is supported by octagonal columns and has pierced bargeboards. The front door is half-glazed and features geometrical tracery and plain pilasters. The gables also have pierced bargeboards. This lodge was built by Mrs. Mary Gee, the owner of the Colne House estate. Colne House itself is not listed.
