Description

Gould's Farmhouse is a house dating from the 17th century, with later alterations and additions. It is timber framed and plastered, topped with a red plain tiled roof and features an off-centred red brick chimney stack. The building has two storeys and a rear outshot, with a four-window range of small paned vertically sliding sashes. There is a 20th-century open gabled porch that includes a two-light, two-panelled door. Inside, there is a back-to-back inglenook fireplace with chamfered brick edging and a chamfered mantel beam, along with chamfered bridging joists. An inscribed date of DC 1725 appears on a side brace, likely relating to 18th-century alterations. The house also features a 17th-century moulded fire surround.
