Description
Dixon House is an early 19th-century house located on Vine Street in Great Bardfield. It features a timber frame with plastering and a slate roof. The building has a double range plan, with an external stack on the left side of the front range and an internal stack on the right side of the rear range. The house is two storeys high. On the ground floor, there is a late 19th-century shopfront that is currently disused, which includes a central six-panel door flanked by four-light sash windows, each with moulded panels below, and a shallow hood supported by scrolled brackets. To the right of the shopfront, there are two early 19th-century sash windows with 16 lights each. The first floor also has two similar sash windows. The roofs are shallow pitched. The building is listed for its group value with other nearby structures.
