Description
Hyde Cottage is a cottage that was once two separate cottages, dating from the 17th century or earlier, with later alterations and additions from the 20th century. The building is timber framed and plastered, topped with a thatched roof. It is now arranged in a T-plan, featuring a left range and a right gabled crosswing that extends to the left, with a pentice board on the gable. There is a red brick chimney stack with attached diagonal shafts on the crosswing. The cottage has one storey and attics, with a window arrangement of 1:2, including a three-light window on the gable, all of which are 20th-century casements. A gabled porch with red tiles is located on the left return, and there is a vertically boarded door with muntins. The internal structure reveals the exposed frame.
