Description

Nightingale Hall is a house built in the mid-18th century, with extensions added in the 19th century. It is constructed of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a slate roof and handmade red plain tiles. The original square section of the house faces southwest, with later extensions to the left and right. The house has two stories plus attics. The window arrangement is 2 windows wide, 3 windows in the centre, then 1 window wide, with 18th and early 19th century sash windows featuring glazing bars. A central doorcase has a moulded frieze and pilasters. The building features a dentilled cornice and parapet. The right-hand extension retains the original doorcase, which has a broken pediment and long, projecting eaves. The original house and the right extension have hipped roofs, while the left extension has a gabled front. The interior contains extensive 18th and early 19th century detailing.
