Description
Nightingale Cottage is a house dating from the late 16th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It features a timber frame that is plastered, with the front pitch of the roof covered in handmade red plain tiles and the rear pitch in slate. The cottage consists of three bays and has a central chimney, facing northeast. At the back, there is a full-height extension made of painted brick with a catslide roof. The building is two storeys high and has a two-window range of early 19th-century sashes, each with 16 lights. There is a plain door located in a small pedimented doorcase at the right end of the front elevation. The cottage was formerly known as Warren Farm Cottage.
