Description
The coach house, built around 1800, is located approximately 20 metres northwest of Whitley House. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and features a roof made of dark red and black glazed pantiles, with a few unglazed red tiles. The building is aligned roughly northeast to southwest and has a southeast aspect. There is a lean-to extension on the northwest side, which is roofed with corrugated iron and formed on a boundary wall made of red brick and flint, with weatherboarded sides.
The central entrance consists of double doors set beneath a semi-elliptical arch made of gauged red brick, flanked by two brick pilasters, and topped with a simple cornice and a pediment featuring moulded bricks. On either side of the central doors, there are boarded doors under shallow segmental arches of gauged red bricks, along with two semi-circular windows and one round window, all made of gauged red brick. A dogtooth course runs below the eaves, and the roof is hipped, covered with ridged tiles that have serrated crests on all five edges. The building also includes a hayloft above.
