Description
This is a 17th-century barn located 25 metres northeast of Old Wills Farmhouse. It is timber framed and covered with weatherboarding, featuring a roof made of corrugated asbestos and some felt on the roof of the midstrey. The barn has five bays arranged in a northwest-southeast direction, with a midstrey on the southwest side. There is a lean-to extension with a corrugated iron roof in the western angle. The midstrey has large doors, and the winnowing doors below were replaced in the 20th century. High pitching doors are present at the northwest end, and there are gablet hips at both ends and on the midstrey. The barn has jowled posts, heavy studding, arched braces to the tiebeams, and a clasped purlin roof. Part of the structure is inaccessible due to being fully occupied by grain storage bins. It adjoins 20th-century buildings to the northwest and southwest that have no architectural or historic interest.
