Description

This is a late 16th-century timber-framed building with a 17th-century second floor addition and an 18th-century facade, located on the north-west side of High Street. The building has a three-window range of double-hung sash windows. It features a parapet with a central pediment and a modillioned wooden cornice below. Three-storey bay windows flank the central doorcase. The first and second floors were altered in the 19th century, and a shopfront occupies part of the ground floor. A central first-floor Venetian window is present. Internally, the timber frame is visible on all walls except the front. Two small fragments of 17th-century wall painting survive in the north-east corner of the first floor.
