Description
There are four headstones located approximately 17 metres south of the south-west corner of the nave in the churchyard of St Michael and All Angels.
The first headstone is dated 1734 and is made of limestone, featuring a scrolled round head and a shouldered plaque. It bears an inscription to Simon Cole and has a design above the plaque of an angel-head and flowers.
The second headstone, dated 1753, is also limestone with a round and shouldered head, and a rectangular plaque inscribed to Elizabeth, daughter of Simon and Mary Cole. It includes a design of an angel-head above the plaque.
The third headstone, dated 1761, is similarly made of limestone, with a round and shouldered head and a shaped plaque inscribed to Simon Cole. It features a design with an angel-head above the plaque.
The fourth headstone, dated 1797, is a limestone slab with a shaped head and a plaque inscribed to Mary Cole, also featuring an angel-head design above the plaque.
