Description

The cottage at the gate of Oulton House is a late 17th century or 18th century building that was restored around 1980. It features a timber-frame structure that is rendered, topped with a thatched roof made of reed, and has a grey gault brick ridge stack. There is another stack on the left side, which may be a later addition. The cottage has a three-bay layout with a lobby plan and a gable end facing the road. It includes two 20th-century dormers and six small-pane horizontal sliding sash windows that were added around 1980. The doorway is located in its original position, directly opposite the stack.
