Description
No. 22 Angle End is a house that was formerly known as the Grapes Public House, dated 1741. It was enlarged at the rear in the late 1970s. The building is constructed of gault brick with red brick dressings around the doors, windows, and quoins, topped with a steeply pitched plain tiled roof. It features a saw tooth eaves cornice and end parapets supported by red brick kneelers. The house has two storeys and a symmetrical front with three windows arranged in segmental arches. The later casement windows have small panes, except for a central dummy panel on the first floor that displays the initials RHM and the date 1741, surrounded by a vine leaf border. The original central doorway has been blocked. Inside, there is a stop-chamfered main beam, a framed partition wall, and an original inglenook hearth.
