Description

Number 48 (Prospect Cottage) and Number 50 are a pair of cottages dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century. They are timber-framed, rendered, and covered with long straw thatch, featuring a ridge stack. The cottages are one storey high with an attic and have two full gable dormers. The ground floor includes small casement windows and a doorway located in the central bay. The interior of Number 48 has been inspected and includes one bay with an inglenook hearth and a floor frame supported by a clamp. There is a narrow end bay used for storage, which retains its original partition wall. The roof is a typical side purlin design.
