Description
Hall Farmhouse is a house that was formerly a farmhouse, dating from the early 16th century with alterations from the late 17th century and the 20th century. It is constructed of timber framing with plaster and has a plain tiled roof, featuring a tall rectangular red brick ridge stack. The building has two storeys, an attic, and a cellar, and is a remnant of a larger structure that extended further to the southwest, as shown on a map from 1687.
The main entrance is located in a modern flat-roofed extension on the left side, and there are three casement windows on both the ground and first floors, all dating from the 20th century. Inside, the farmhouse retains a substantial exposed timber frame consisting of four bays, divided by a closed truss, with an original truss located to the southwest next to a chimney stack. The ceiling beams are stop-chamfered, and there is a four-light window on the first floor with moulded mullions. The late 17th-century features include an inserted stack, partitions, and a cellar, along with a door to the staircase from that period.
