Description
Meadow Thatch is a cottage dating from around 1700, with a 20th-century extension at the west end. It features a timber frame that is rendered and has a half-hipped roof covered with long straw thatch, which includes a ridge stack. The roof at the west end was rebuilt in the 20th century and has a lower ridge. The cottage has a three-bay plan, with a narrower bay at the rear of the stack, and is one storey with an attic. There are two dormers and a doorway located in the centre bay. The cottage has two windows, one of which is possibly original and is a three-light iron casement with the central light opening and retaining its original spring catch. Additionally, there is a nine-pane hung sash window on the gable end. Inside, some framing is exposed, and there is an inglework made of red brick.
