Description

No. 10 High Street is a pair of cottages that have been combined into one dwelling, dating from the late 17th century. The building is timber framed and has a plaster exterior on a brick plinth. It features a steeply pitched roof that is currently covered with corrugated iron, although it was originally thatched. The structure includes an original gault brick ridge stack, along with later added end and side stacks. The layout is a single range plan with a lobby entry. There are four windows, one of which is on the left side and has leaded lights. The doorway leads into the lobby entry. Inside, the cottage features a stop-chamfered main beam and adjoining inglenook hearths.
