Description
The garden ornament located to the rear of The Manor House is a Grade II listed structure from the late 17th century, featuring the arms of Sir Christopher Hatton. This limestone urn is designed with an acanthus base, adorned with floral swags and a mask ornament positioned between two scroll handles. It is mounted on a round to square stem that has panels enhanced by the arms in a cartouche and a hart, all set on a moulded plinth. Sir Christopher Hatton owned the property in 1681 and may have constructed the garden wall. This ornament is one of three that are arranged in a formal garden layout, which includes two rectangular lawns bordered by miniature box hedges.
