Description

The garden ornament located to the rear of The Manor House is a late 17th-century limestone urn, which is incomplete on its stem. It features a cartouche and hart decoration on its panels, along with swags on a moulded plinth. This ornament is one of three that are arranged in a formal garden layout, consisting of two rectangular lawns separated by a path and bordered by miniature box hedges. The property was owned by Sir Christopher Hatton in 1681, who may have also constructed the garden wall.
