Description
The Baptist Chapel, dated 1854 as inscribed on a stone plaque above the main entrance, is a brick building with a slate roof. It is one storey high, with an internal gallery. The front features a pedimented gable and giant corner pilasters, each with moulded capitals and bases. There are two gallery windows with iron glazing bars framing round-headed brick arches. The main entrance has double, flush-panelled doors set within a round-headed brick arch with stone imposts and a key block, above which is a fixed lantern with glazing bars in a fanlight. The gallery is complete, with an iron platform and lamp brackets. According to J.R. Ravensdale’s “The Village of Landbeach,” published in 1974, page 14, this building is of group value.
