Description

Glebe Cottage is a cottage dating from the early 17th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and plastered exterior, topped with a long straw thatched roof. The cottage features a local brick ridge stack from the 17th century. It has one storey and an attic, designed with a lobby entry plan that includes a dairy outshut at the rear and an attached outbuilding to the south gable, which may be from the same period. The front facade has two gabled dormer windows of varying sizes and a panelled door. Inside, there are two inglenook hearths, one of which has an opening for a baking oven. Additionally, there is a moulded corbel supporting a chamfered axial beam and two boxed staircases.
